Dancing with Traditions
Are you looking for Kalakshetra style Bharathanatyam dance Online and Offline classes ?
Then get ready to step into the Jagopriya School of Dance. Bharatanatyam is an Art form that expresses the Individual & the Universe as a Whole. It is the confluence of bhava ,raga,tala with natyam –hence the name BhaRaTa Natyam
Course/Class updates & Eligibility:
- At JSD students will get to learn in the Kalakshetra style of Bharathanatyam.
- Training will be provided starting with Adavus (Basic steps), Jathis (Small combination of adavu) & Items (dance songs).
- Theory classes are also conducted regularly wherein students are made aware of the Hastas (Hand gestures), music related to dance etc.
- The dance school starts the training from age 5 and adults for all age group.
- We conduct both Online and Offline classes.
Examination :
- At JSD students will have mandatorily attend the yearly examination.
- The exam paper is split into 3 parts: Viva, practical and written.
- The examination will be validated, and students will be given with their marks card.
Rules & Regulations:
Admission: As a traditional practice students will have to complete the formality of Guru Dakshina. The following items to be got by on the first class and presented to the guru on the date of commencement. Betel leaves, Betel nut, fruits and flowers and any amount of money for Dakshina.
Fees: As per the joining process, there will be a one-time registration fees of Rs 300 to be paid. The monthly fee is Rs.1500. Fees should be paid within 10th of every month. Any delay in fees payment will incur an additional late fee charges of Rs.25 per day.
Note: In case of students being absent, the fees will not be adjusted
Uniform: Students must adhere to the discipline of wearing the uniform to class. Black Kurti, Red salwar pant with red dupatta. Adult students must wear practice saree to class.
Time: Students must follow the discipline of attending their respective class on time. No late comers will be allowed.
Compensatory class: In case of any cancellation of class by the academy, we shall have the compensatory class conducted or it will be adjusted from the upcoming class.
Events:
- JSD conducts a yearly presentation day known as “Nrityotsav” a stage event for students to portray their learnings.
- Students are encouraged and well trained to showcase their performance.
- Once the student completes more than 6 months at the academy, they will have to attend the Gejje/Chilanka pooja, wherein the bells will be blessed and handover to the students for their upcoming practice and performance.
- Students have performed in the dance festival on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri utsav and have received the “Nateshwar Natya Samaan Award” .
